Diversey Novel 1 Reform School Girl Digest Felice Swados

"Reform School Girl" is the Diversey Publishing Corporation's "Diversey Romantic Novel #1," a digest paperback published in Chicago in 1948 — actually a reprint of Felice Swados's 1941 Doubleday novel House of Fury.

It's 128 pages in digest paperback format, about 5.25" x 7.5".

The cover model was a well-known Canadian figure skater named Marty Collins, and the book included two pages of fictional letters between the reform-school girl "Daisy" and her father, hinting at an incestuous relationship — Collins's real father was upset by the association and threatened a lawsuit. Diversey caved and removed the letter pages, so most surviving copies lack them — one account even says her father sued the publisher for defamation and won, causing the publisher to excise the first page of text from all copies (accounts differ slightly on the exact legal outcome)

It's now a scarce, collectible piece of postwar pulp/sleaze paperback publishing
