Art Pottery

American art pottery refers to the handmade, artistically designed ceramics — vases, tiles, decorative ware — produced roughly from the 1870s through the 1950s, emphasizing original forms, experimental glazes, and hand-painted or hand-finished decoration rather than mass production. Stylistically, most of this work is affiliated with the Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, or Art Deco movements, and also European art pottery.
