Ohio was one of the largest wine-producing states in the country in the late 1800s and early 1900s, with the Ohio River valley and the Lake Erie Islands region home to dozens of thriving wineries before Prohibition ended the trade. Pieces like these are increasingly hard to find, especially with maker's marks or labels still intact.
